If there is no space in the bathroom for a washing machine (hereinafter CM), it is easiest to place it in the kitchen. After all, there are already all communications here - a pipe that supplies cold water and a sewer drain. You just have to find a suitable place, choose a model of the desired size and, if you wish, embed it in the headset or install it under the table top. In this article we will explain how to do it correctly - without prejudice to the interior and ease of use of the CM.
Pros and cons of placing a washing machine in the kitchen and tips on its use
Placing a washing machine in the kitchen is often a necessary measure, which has its pros and cons. Let's start with the pros.
- In addition to freeing up space in the bathroom, you will create an additional work surface in the kitchen. Another bonus for a large family is the opportunity to start washing at any time, regardless of whether the bathroom is occupied or not.
However, when transferring the machine to the kitchen, you need to be prepared to accept some inconveniences:
- The noise of the car during the spin and drain will interfere with communication during the meal and turn off the TV.
- The smell of washing powder and other detergent chemicals is not very appropriate and useful where food is stored, and households eat and rest.
- To wash dirty things you first have to look into the bathroom (or another room where the laundry basket is stored), sort and load everything you need into the basin, grab the right amount of powder along the way and then proceed to the kitchen.
However, all these inconveniences are not critical and completely solvable. Here are some tips to help you quickly get used to the kitchen-laundry room.
- To noises and smells do not interfere with you during gatherings in the kitchen, try to start washing clothes in the night / evening or in between meals.
- Washing powder is best stored either in a closet in containers with a tight lid (say, under the sink), or in another room (in the same bathroom, for example).
- So that the powder never wakes up past the tray, simply replace it with a liquid laundry detergent, which, by the way, always dissolves completely.
- To make the machine as little as possible, adjust its legs carefully.
- If you are equipping your kitchen from scratch, try to finish the floor with ceramic tiles/stoneware tilesand not laminate or floorboard. Indeed, firstly, it is not afraid of possible leaks, and secondly, it minimizes the noise of the machine during washing.

How to fit a washing machine in the kitchen
Install the washing machine in the kitchen in three ways:
- Separate from the headset (near or at a distance);
- With partial embedding in the headset, or rather under the tabletop (in a box with or without a door);
- With full embedding in the headset.

Full embedding

Partial embedding
You can also build in a headset an ordinary stationary machine with front loading. The main thing in this matter is to choose a model of suitable height and width. This is not difficult to do, because the dimensions of washing machines are standardized and in most cases just fit under the table top.
How to build a washing machine under the countertop
The standard height of the floor cases of the headset varies from 84 to 88 cm, and the standard height of the CM is 85 cm. If your machine is somewhat higher than you need - it does not matter, the manufacturer most likely provided for the possibility of embedding it and made the top cover removable. To remove it, you just need to unscrew the rear of a pair of screws. Thus, you will reduce the height of the unit by 2-3 cm. And in order to protect the equipment from leaks and dust, its upper part should be covered with a film or a thin sheet of hardboard or plastic.
There are two options for how to build a washing machine under the countertop - without a door or with a door.
- Building SM without door. This method is good installation simplicity. All you need is to pick up a car that fits in height and insert it into the prepared niche. If suddenly the car will need a move or repair, then you can easily pull it out from under the table top. However, due to the fact that the front panel of the car remains visible, and small gaps remain around the case, the interior will be less uniform and orderly than with full integration. In addition, the visibility of the front panel and the gap in the niche is obliged to always keep the “laundry area” clean.
Tips
- Keep in mind that if the CM is placed against the wall, then the tabletop should be fixed to the wall, and not just put on the cover of the equipment.
- In order for the washing machine installed under the worktop to look neat, you should choose it according to the color of the kitchen (the choice of such machines is small, but there is) and most suitable in width and height to the prepared niche.
- The most versatile CM color is white or silver (stainless steel color).

In this size, the technician will fit perfectly in his niche and leave enough space for the hoses. Tips
- So that the tray for receiving the powder does not rest against the hinge or edge of the door when extending, provide for a small gap on the left side of the machine.
